What the banner means
On a draft's detail page you may see "Image couldn't be generated" with the note that the text post is ready and approvable. Image generation is best-effort: if the image step fails, the written, reviewed post still lands in Approvals as a text-only draft rather than the whole run failing. The banner shows the reason recorded for the skip.
The monthly image budget
Every generated picture counts against a per-plan monthly cap — each variant in a multi-option grid and each carousel slide is one image:
- Free trial — 30 images per month.
- Starter — 90 images.
- Pro — 200 images.
- Business — 500 images.
This budget is separate from credits. A top-up pack adds credits but does not raise it. The most common skip reason is simply that the month's budget is used up — with a grid of several variants per post, the trial allowance goes quickly.
Getting the image
- Upgrade your plan on Billing, then re-roll the image from the draft's image box.
- Wait for the next period — the budget resets, then regenerate from Compose or use the image box on the draft.
- If a picture was generated but the draft shows "Image generation degraded" notes instead, the image did render but a step around it (a provider, a variant, the quality review) was skipped — the notes say which.
- If support grants you extra images, they appear as Bonus images on Billing and are used only after your plan budget is spent.
When the cap stops a run up front
If you ask for images from Compose after the budget is gone, the run can be refused before it starts with: "Your monthly image-generation budget is used up. The draft was created with a text-only fallback; upgrade your plan to re-roll with images."
